The Presidential Library Fund has been enriched with another valuable publication reflecting the important literary and cultural heritage of the Turkic world. The scientific publication “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud”, prepared on the basis of the Vatican manuscript, was donated to the library by Asif Hajiyev (Shirvanelli), a Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and associate professor.

The scientific publication “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud” is based on a scientific-critical analysis of the Vatican manuscript. In this publication the author pays special attention to the vocabulary of the work. Thus, detailed comments on a number of words and expressions are provided here, along with reasoned interpretations on issues of their reading and semantic content, taking into account existing scholarly discussions. At the same time, the language of the text has been adapted considering the perception of the modern reader: the presentation form has been improved, while strictly following the spirit of the original version.

This publication has not only become a significant contribution to the scientific fund of the Presidential Library, but also opens up new opportunities for popularizing the heritage of “Dede Gorgud” among a wide readership and its systematic study in the academic environment. The book serves as a valuable scientific source for textual critics, linguists, as well as specialists in the field of Turkic studies.
