The Information Resources on the President, Public Administration, and Country Studies Section

The Information Resources on the President, Public Administration, and Country Studies Section develops electronic projects that contain the activities of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the statehood history of the Azerbaijani people, its cultural heritage, economic and scientific progress. The compilation of materials from various sources, translation, and editing of projects in three languages (Azerbaijani, Russian, and English) are carried out in this section. The section organizes mass events aimed at promoting the activities of the country's supreme and central governing bodies and knowledge of country studies, also collects books that comprise the activities of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the supreme governing bodies, both within the country and abroad. It includes the Conference Hall and the Group of Translation of Electronic Publications.

The Library Collection Section

The Library Collection Section provides the organization, preservation, and use of collections consisting of printed materials in various languages across all fields of science. To regularly update the collection with new literature, it makes suggestions to the relevant sections of the library and creates a card catalog for the periodicals that enter the library, by the appropriate classification. The section includes the Rare Books Collection, the Art Books Collection, and the Periodicals Collection. The literature stored in the Rare Books Collection is regularly evaluated for its scientific, historical, and cultural value. Rare and valuable publications, as well as special collections are included in the registry of national cultural heritage of the Republic of Azerbaijan, following the procedures established by legislation.

The Library-Bibliographic Services Section

The Library-Bibliographic Services Section conducts bibliographic analysis of books and other publications included in the library's collection, as well as subscribed periodicals and serial publications. It also provides reference and bibliographic services based on readers' (users') inquiries. The main functions of this section include writing bibliographic data, gathering and processing bibliographic information about books, journals, articles, and other materials in the library's collection, responding to bibliographic inquiries, preparing bibliographic indicators on various topics and presenting them to readers, creating and managing the library's bibliographic data electronic databases. The section prepares and provides a variety of verbal and written bibliographic references in response to readers' bibliographic inquiries. Exhibitions (thematic) are organized to inform readers about newly acquired books in the library. The section includes the Information-Bibliography Services Group, Lending Services Group, and the Reading Room.

The Acquisition, Book Processing, and Online Catalog Section

The Acquisition, Book Processing, and Online Catalog Section regularly restocks the library's collection with printed materials and other resources in accordance with the interests and requests of its readers. It classifies newly acquired printed materials based on library and bibliographic classification tables. The section creates an electronic catalog that allows searching by separate elements of standard bibliographic description and also manages the preparation, accession, registration, and recording of documents related to printed materials added to or removed from the library collection.

The Library Automation, Digitization, and Electronic Resources Section

The Library Automation, Digitization, and Electronic Resources Section implements modern information technologies to establish a unified information-resource system and automate library and information services. The section ensures the implementation of library services and management processes more efficiently through modern technologies. IRBIS64+ Library Automation System has been implemented in the library. The section administers the mentioned system, installs software in the library's sections, provides technical support for computer equipment, ensures the uninterrupted operation of the entire system, and timely updating of software versions. The process of converting printed publications into digital format is conducted in the section. The section includes the Software Support Group.
