The Presidential Library presented a virtual book exhibition “Azerbaijani national press - 150”

To mark the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan's national press, the Presidential Library has prepared and presented a virtual book exhibition “Azerbaijani national press - 150”. The exhibition presents scientific and journalistic publications covering the stages of formation and development of our national press, the process of formation of journalism, theoretical, legal and ethical foundations of journalism.
   
The books presented at the virtual exhibition not only cover the main directions in the history of Azerbaijani press, but also reflect the important role of mass media in public life. Here are materials on such publications as ‘Ekinchi’ newspaper founded by Hasan bey Zardabi in the 19th century, ‘Molla Nasreddin’, ‘Azerbaijan’ and other periodicals, the press of the emigration and Soviet periods, as well as the activities of AZERTAC, modern information policy and digital media trends.
     
The exhibition also presents publications on press organs published during the period of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the role and activity of the media during the Patriotic War, the importance of the media in information policy during the years of independence, and the unique role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of national journalism.
    
This virtual book exhibition is not only a valuable source for researchers, journalists, and a wide readership, but also an important information resource reflecting the rich heritage of the history of the national press and designed to bring it to future generations.
