Today marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani musical culture, the author of the first opera in the East, a renowned musicologist-scientist, talented publicist, playwright, and educator, as well as a well-known public figure. September 18, the birthday of the great composer, is traditionally celebrated in our country as National Music Day.

To ensure a grand celebration of the 140th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, signed an order titled "On the Celebration of the 140th Anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyli" on February 3, 2025. This document highlights the importance of preserving our national musical heritage and passing on the rich creativity of this great composer to future generations.

On this occasion, the Presidential Library has launched a virtual book exhibition titled "Uzeyir Hajibeyli," dedicated to the works of Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
