A virtual exhibition dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Sara Ashurbeyli has been presented at the Presidential Library

The Presidential Library has launched a virtual exhibition titled "Sara Ashurbeyli – 120" in honor of the 120th anniversary of the distinguished scholar, Honored Scientist, State Prize laureate, and Doctor of Historical Sciences, Sara Ashurbeyli. This virtual exhibition aims to systematically present to the public the fundamental and diverse scientific legacy of Sara Ashurbeyli, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani historical science, as well as an outstanding historian, Orientalist, and researcher.

Sara Ashurbeyli was a prominent intellectual who dedicated her life to the Azerbaijani science, history, and culture. She conducted in-depth research into the history of the peoples of the Near and Middle East and holds a significant position in Azerbaijani historiography as the first fundamental researcher of Baku’s history. Her scholarly heritage mainly encompasses the medieval history of Baku, particularly the Old City, the state of the Shirvanshahs, as well as scientific studies on the ethno-genesis, culture, and urban planning issues of Azerbaijan.

The virtual exhibition showcases Sara Ashurbeyli’s fundamental monographs on various stages of Azerbaijani history, her scholarly research dedicated to the medieval period of Baku, and the history of the Shirvanshahs state, as well as studies published regarding the scholar's scientific activity and legacy.
