PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Rena Rzayeva presented her valuable book entitled “Munis-name” as a source on Sufism to the Presidential Library.

The book contains a comparative analysis of the III and IV chapters of the outstanding work “Munis-name” by Abu Bakr ibn Khosrow al-Ustad, a famous representative of classical literature of the 12th century, contemporary and friend of the great Nizami. This work, relatively late introduced into Azerbaijani literary circles, is compared with the works “Kashf al-mahjub” by Ali ibn Usman al-Jullabi al-Hujwiri and “Tazkirat al-auliya” by Farid al-Din Attar.

At the time of writing “Munis-name”, Sufism had a significant influence on the cultural, spiritual, and socio-political life of the Muslim East. The research includes biographies of 72 renowned Sufis, recognized as prominent figures of Islamic Sufism, and their lives and activities are analyzed in comparison with the works of al-Hujwiri and Attar.

The inclusion of the book in the collection of the Presidential Library makes it an important source for studying Azerbaijani Sufi literature for researchers and a wide readership.
