Following the restoration of Azerbaijan’s state independence, many Turkish scholars visited our country, conducted serious research, and based on these studies published valuable books. One of these scientists is Dr. Eyyub Zengin, who spent more than seven years conducting research in Azerbaijan’s archives and libraries. E. Zengin was a regular reader of the Presidential Library. As he himself noted, the electronic resources prepared in the Presidential Library were very useful in enriching his research.
Recently, E. Zengin once again became a guest at the Presidential Library. He donated to our library fund his recently published in Istanbul the two-volume book entitled “Bağımsızlığın 30. Yılında Azerbaycan (1991–2021)” (“Azerbaijan in the 30th Year of Independence (1991–2021)”).
In the first volume of the two-volume set, which spans over 1000 pages, the author presents important information about Azerbaijan, including its geographical features, population composition, system of governance after gaining independence, Azerbaijan's position in the international relations system, and the key principles of its foreign policy.
In the second volume, the author provides a detailed analysis of the economic situation in Azerbaijan after independence, the impact of Armenia’s occupation of 20% of Azerbaijani territories on the economy, political confrontations in the country, the transition to a market economy after stability was achieved, the expansion of foreign economic relations, and all aspects of relations with Turkey.
The electronic versions of the two-volume set will be prepared and posted on the Presidential Library’s website.
