Meetings with scholars, intellectuals, and public figures have become a tradition at the Presidential Library.

Doctor of Philology, Professor, Honoured Teacher Ibrahim Bayramov visited the Presidential Library, became acquainted with its activities, and presented his newly published books to the Library’s collection.

At present, Ibrahim Bayramov serves as the Head of the Scientific-Organizational Department at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. His research mainly focuses on the study of Western Azerbaijani toponyms, as well as the phonetics, morphology, lexicology, dialectology, and dialects of the Azerbaijani language. The investigation of the ethnic cleansing policies carried out against Azerbaijanis in the territory of present-day Armenia, the crimes committed against toponyms, and the history of genocides and deportations constitutes one of the principal directions of his scholarly work. He defended his dissertation titled “Historical and Linguistic Analysis of the Turkic-Origin Toponyms of Armenia” in 2007.

The works authored by him include “Dictionary of Words and Geographical Terms Used in the Toponyms of Western Azerbaijan” (Baku, 2000), “Turkic-Origin Toponyms of Western Azerbaijan” (Baku, 2002), “The Toponymic System of Western Azerbaijan” (Baku, 2005), “The Lexicon of Western Azerbaijani Dialects” (Baku, 2011), “Western Azerbaijan: Historical Realities or the Policy of Ethnic Cleansing in Armenia” (Baku, 2012), “Fundamentals of Azerbaijani Dialectology” (Baku, 2015), and “Phonetics of Azerbaijani Dialects” (Baku, 2016). He also co-authored, together with historian Nazim Mustafa, the book “The Onomastics of Truth: The Renaming and Falsification of Historical-Geographical Names in the Territory of the Present-Day Republic of Armenia,” which was published in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian in Baku between 2021 and 2023. Electronic versions of these books have been made available on the website of the Presidential Library.

Professor Ibrahim Bayramov has recently presented to the Presidential Library his books “Morphology of Azerbaijani Dialects” (Ankara, 2019), “Lexicology of Azerbaijani Dialects” (Baku, 2020), “Comparison of Turkic Languages” (Baku, 2020; co-authored with Almaz Badalova), “Azerbaijani Dialectology” (Ankara, 2021), and “Western Zangazur: A Historical Azerbaijani Land” (Ankara, 2023), along with their electronic versions.

The Director of the Presidential Library, Professor Afet Abbasova, expressed her gratitude to Professor Ibrahim Bayramov for enriching the Library’s collection with his books and wished him success in his scholarly and pedagogical work.
