Two new books on tourism, “Organisation of Tourism Activities” and “Sustainable Tourism”, have been added to the Presidential Library collection. “Organisation of Tourism Activities” by Nizami Gafarov and “Sustainable Tourism” by Elnur Allahverdiyev were donated to the Presidential Library by their respective authors.

Nizami Gafarov’s “Organisation of Tourism Activities” examines the theoretical foundations of tourism activities, the structure of the tourism industry, the tourism market, the use of resources, the legal framework governing tourism activities, the organisation of tourism enterprises, the development of products and services, marketing and management, human resource management, financial and economic mechanisms, innovation and digital technologies, risk management and safety, as well as the socio-economic role of tourism and its development prospects. The publication is intended for university students, professionals working in the tourism sector and those engaged in research.  
 
Elnur Allahverdiyev’s “Sustainable Tourism” analyses the environmental, social and economic risks posed by mass tourism and explains the principles and implementation mechanisms of sustainable tourism as an alternative approach to these challenges. The publication examines contemporary scholarly and methodological tools such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the measurement of ecological carrying capacity, the Tourism Satellite Account, ESG mechanisms, green certification and destination management. The book provides a comparative examination of sustainable tourism practices in European, Scandinavian, American and Asian countries and considers the potential for adapting these models to the realities of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan’s current tourism strategy, regional development programmes and community-based tourism, as well as tourism development in the liberated Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions based on the principles of a “green energy zone”, are analysed in the context of state policy.
