On April 24, 2025, an event was held at the Presidential Library of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the prominent poet, playwright, literary scholar, educator, public figure, and academician, People's Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.

The event participants first paid their respects to the cherished memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev by laying a wreath in front of his bust in the library foyer. They then viewed an exhibition featuring the works of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.

The event in the conference hall was opened by Professor Afet Abbasova, the director of the Presidential Library, who delivered an opening speech. She noted that, based on a decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a series of events are being organized in the country’s scientific, educational, and cultural institutions to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the great writer. Additionally, she emphasized that the presentation of the book “The Chest of Wisdom,” compiled by the renowned intellectual Fikrat Asgarov, at the Presidential Library is a significant contribution in honor of the anniversary.

The author of the book's "Foreword," Doctor of Philology, Islam Sadig, a poet, emphasized during the presentation that Fikrat Asgarov systematically compiled the poet's entire collection by researching it thoroughly and organizing his wise sayings and aphorisms into 5 chapters and 26 sub-sections for the readers.

At the event, Javanshir Feyziyev, a deputy of the Milli Majlis, Alizadeh Asgarli, Deputy Director of the Institute of Literature at ANAS and Doctor of Philology, Vagif Aslan, head of the Shaki branch of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, as well as Doctors of Philology Masmakhanim Gaziyeva, Bahar Jafarova, and Sevinj Aliyeva, along with Aida Mirzayeva, the author of books about Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, shared valuable insights regarding Vahabzadeh's multifaceted creativity, scientific contributions, and social-political activities.

At the event, renowned composers Javanshir Guliyev and Eldar Mansurov, who have created songs based on the poems of the People’s Poet, also spoke and shared their memories of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.

The book’s compiler, Fikrat Asgarov, noted in his speech that obtaining all of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's publications, systematically researching these works, and selecting and compiling aphorisms and wise thoughts from them required over three years. He also expressed his sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to the leadership of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Presidential Library for their support in organizing such a valuable event at a high level.

A virtual exhibition of the honoree's books published in various languages has also been created and posted on the Library's official website.
