The Presidential Library took an important initiative to objectively study the tragic events that left an unforgettable trace in the history of the Azerbaijani people and bring them to future generations. A virtual book exhibition “Genocide of Azerbaijanis” dedicated to the policy of genocide against Azerbaijanis is available in the library.
The virtual exhibition includes basic scientific works, collections of documents and studies published in different languages. These publications cover in detail the policy of genocide, deportation and ethnic cleansing that has been systematically carried out against Azerbaijanis since the early 20th century, using historical facts, figures, eyewitness accounts and international documents.
The books presented at the exhibition include important sources on the genocide of March 1918, the mass deportation of Azerbaijanis in 1948-1953, and Armenia’s policy of ethnic cleansing and military aggression against Azerbaijan that began in 1988.
The virtual exhibition is for representation of the realities of Azerbaijan in a systematic way to both researchers and a wide audience. With this project, the Presidential Library once again honours the memory of the victims of the genocide and continues to provide educational resources on a regular basis so that historical truth is not forgotten.
