Presidential Library Launches Virtual Exhibition Dedicated to Nizami Ganjavi

The Presidential Library has presented readers with another virtual exhibition dedicated to the rich legacy of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi. The exhibition has been prepared with the aim of promoting the outstanding poet’s creative heritage and preserving it for future generations.

Nizami Ganjavi, who lived and worked in the 12th century in the city of Ganja, exerted a profound influence on the development of Eastern and world literary and philosophical thought. His literary legacy is distinguished by its high artistic and aesthetic value, profound philosophical content, and universal human ideas and values. The pinnacle of the poet’s creative legacy is his celebrated Khamsa, comprising the epic poems The Treasury of Mysteries, Khosrow and Shirin, Layla and Majnun, The Seven Beauties, and The Book of Alexander. These works vividly embody such universal human values as justice, humanism, spiritual perfection, knowledge and wisdom, love and fidelity, and human dignity.

Over the centuries, the legacy of Nizami Ganjavi has been preserved as an important component of the national and spiritual heritage of the Azerbaijani people, while at the same time exerting a significant influence on the literature and art of the peoples of the East. The poet’s works have been translated into numerous languages and have earned a distinguished place among the outstanding works of world literature. The exhibition offers readers an opportunity to explore, in digital format, the life and work of the great poet, his timeless works, and his rich literary heritage, as well as to learn more about the various dimensions of his creative work and his significance in the history of Azerbaijani and world literature.
