A meeting has been held at the Presidential Library as part of the tradition of meeting with scholars, intellectuals, and public figures. Vagif Shadlinski, a prominent representative of the well-known Shadlinski family, head of a department at Azerbaijan Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, and academician of the Turkic World Studies International Academy of Sciences, visited the library. The distinguished scientist became acquainted with the activities carried out at the Presidential Library and donated 29 books comprising 28 titles to the library's collection.

The donated books include fundamental works published in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English in the fields of human anatomy, clinical anatomy, morphological studies, and medical terminology. Textbooks, teaching aids, scientific monographs, as well as bibliographic and biographical studies dedicated to the life and work of the scientist, receive special attention.

It is worth noting that Professor Vagif Shadlinski is the author of nearly 700 scientific works. His "Anatomy Atlas" holds particular significance as the first anatomical atlas in the history of Eastern countries. The scientist is also the author of the "Anatomical Terminology" book, which he compiled in Latin, Azerbaijani, Russian, and English, along with original textbooks published in various languages and the first guide prepared for residents.

Our state has highly valued the contributions and services of the prominent scientist. Vagif Shadlinski has been awarded the "Shohrat" Order (Order of Glory) of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the honorary titles of "Honored Doctor" and "Honored Scientist," as well as a personal scholarship from the President, in recognition of his efforts in the development of medical science and medical education. The scientist has also received several prestigious international awards. In 2024, he was honored with the Honorary Certificate from the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Honorary Diploma from the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for his distinguished contributions to promoting the truth about Western Azerbaijan.

The director of the Presidential Library, Professor Afet Abbasova, expressed gratitude to Vagif Shadlinski for enriching the library’s collection with his books and wished him continued success in his honorable mission. The collection, enhanced by the publications donated by Professor Vagif Shadlinski, represents a significant contribution to the preservation of our national scientific heritage and its transmission to future generations.
