Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Nurulla Aliyev, has donated his works, "Geopolitics in the Caucasus–Caspian Region and Azerbaijan" and “Azerbaycan'da Askerlik İşleri ve Askerlik Sanatı (Eski çağlardan 16. yüzyılına kadar)” ("Military Affairs and Military Art in Azerbaijan (From Ancient Times to the 16th Century)") to the Presidential Library. These publications, distinguished by their scholarly content and relevance, play a significant role in enriching the library's collection.

The book "Geopolitics in the Caucasus-Caspian Region and Azerbaijan" has been prepared in accordance with the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s training program. The work systematically analyzes the main military and historical events that have occurred in Azerbaijan’s territory over the last three thousand years, and scientifically explains the nature of the centuries-long geopolitical competition for control of the Caucasus-Caspian region. The author pays particular attention to the stages when the geostrategic interests of leading world powers were concentrated in this area from the Middle Ages to the 18th-20th centuries.

The publication examines the region’s geopolitical processes against the backdrop of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. It specifically highlights Azerbaijan's role in bringing Caspian energy resources to world markets, as well as the strategic importance of the "North-South" and "South-West" international transport projects. Furthermore, it thoroughly analyzes the clash of global powers' interests during the First and Second Garabagh Wars, the foreign policy factors enabling the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, and the new geopolitical realities taking shape in the post-war phase.

The book titled “Azerbaycan'da Askerlik İşleri ve Askerlik Sanatı” ("Military Affairs and Military Art in Azerbaijan") was prepared under the instruction of Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The work was refined based on the monograph "Military History of Azerbaijan" prepared by the Military Scientific-Research Institute of the National Defense University. The book extensively covers military-political events that occurred in the territory of Azerbaijan over three millennia, wars from ancient times to the 16th century, and the stages of formation of military-strategic thought.

Drawing on extensive sources and scholarly literature, this research examines the emergence and development of military art in Azerbaijan. It investigates the organization of the military system, combat tactics, the role of fortifications and defensive structures, and the production and application of various weapon types. Both publications serve as valuable scholarly resources for teachers in higher education institutions, researchers, students, and military cadets, as well as for a broad readership interested in history and geopolitics.
