In the “Literary Heritage” subsection of the “Collections” section of the Presidential Library users can now access a digital compilation highlighting the works of the world-renowned literary figure, the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi.
Having spent all of his life in the ancient Azerbaijani city of Ganja, Nizami Ganjavi enriched the history of philosophical, social, and aesthetic thought of the Near and Middle East with masterpieces of exceptional literary value, laying the foundations of a major literary school with numerous followers. His works are not only pinnacle examples of classical poetry but also an integral part of the treasury of world literature, reflecting universal values, humanistic ideals, and profound philosophical depth.
Nizami’s distinguished legacy has maintained a prominent place within the cultural heritage of the East for centuries, exerting a significant influence, particularly on the development of Eastern miniature painting.
The materials included in this collection encompass various aspects of the poet’s artistic genius – from his monumental epic poems to his lyrical works, and from aphoristic expressions to philosophical reflections.
