The Art Literature sub-section of the Collections section of the Presidential Library has been enriched with new publications covering various fields of Azerbaijani art. In the digital resource, annotations of scholarly works, textbooks, and monographs devoted to the creative activity of prominent cultural figures, Azerbaijani music, cinema, and painting are made available to a wide audience in Azerbaijani, Russian and English.

Among the presented publications, the research work by Habiba Mammadova entitled “The Historical and Heroic Theme in the Operas of Azerbaijani Composers” is of particular interest. The book provides a scholarly and theoretical analysis of the ideological and artistic features of historical and heroic themes in national opera art, and consistently and systematically examines one of the important directions of Azerbaijani musical culture.

The collection also includes annotations of other valuable publications reflecting various aspects of Azerbaijani cinema and musical culture. In Aydin Kazimzadeh’s book “Cinema and Time”, the stages of development of national cinema art are presented in a temporal context, while in Jeyran Mahmudova’s work “The Double Wing of the Song” the interrelation of music and poetry is interpreted from a scholarly and journalistic perspective. Ziyadkhan Aliyev’s book “Yashar Samedov: A Life Imbued in Lines” is devoted to the creative path and artistic world of the renowned painter.

The materials collected in the Art Literature sub-section serve the preservation, promotion, and international recognition of Azerbaijani art. The presentation of digital resources in three languages ensures accessibility for users of different linguistic backgrounds.

It should be noted that the Art Literature Collection of the Presidential Library preserves valuable books, albums, and exhibition catalogues on architecture, carpet weaving, decorative-applied arts, painting, graphics, photography, music, theater, and cinema. It is also possible to familiarize oneself here with rare publications on the art of world peoples.

The systematic updating of the Art Literature Collection not only constitutes an essential component of the purposeful efforts aimed at preserving and promoting the national cultural heritage, but also serves as a reliable scholarly resource for researchers, students, and art enthusiasts.
