On November 21, 2025, an international scientific conference titled “Innovations in Library and Information Activities in the Digital Era: Creation and Use of Traditional and Electronic Resources”, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Central Scientific Library of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), was held. The conference brought together representatives from various countries, as well as the Director of the Presidential Library, Afet Abbasova, and the Head of the Library Automation, Digitization, and Electronic Resources Section, Zakir Ismayilov.

Z. Ismayilov delivered a presentation entitled “Information Security and Libraries (Based on the Experience of the Presidential Library of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan).” The presentation emphasized that the growing trends of cybercrime in modern society necessitate addressing new challenges. In an environment characterized by the extensive use of computer technologies, network resources, and state-of-the-art tools in information activities, social and communication institutions – particularly libraries – face the essential task of protecting information resources and ensuring information security.

The presentation also provided a detailed overview of measures undertaken to prevent unauthorized access to the information resources of the Presidential Library, to safeguard created information resources, and to strengthen security mechanisms. It was highlighted that reinforcing protection in this field, as well as continuously studying and analyzing emerging developments, constitutes an effective approach.
