According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated May 18, 2006, June 2 is celebrated in our country as a professional holiday of civil aviation workers. On June 2, 1938, our first aviation group was created, and thus the foundations of civil aviation in Azerbaijan were laid. The first airplane flights in our country took place in Baku in 1910, when the Russian aviator Utochkin made four consecutive flights along the Balakhani “highway” in a Farman-type airplane. After this event, the number of flights in Azerbaijan began to increase. Airfields in Baku and Yevlakh were built and put into operation.
According to the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, signed on March 3, 1918, between the countries of the Quadruple Alliance (German Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Ottoman Empire and Bulgarian Empire, and the coalition that fought against the Entente states during the First World War (1914 -1918 g.), Russia pledged to immediately liberate, along with the territories of Eastern Anatolia under the occupation of Russian troops, also the provinces of Kars, Ardahan and Batum, which were captured from the Ottoman Empire as a result of the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878.

After the adoption of the “Declaration of Independence” on 28 May 1918, the need emerged to establish a security service alongside the national army in order to effectively combat internal and external threats, prevent possible acts of terror, thwart disruptive activities and provide security within state borders. The Olympic Games were the sporting, social and cultural history of the ancient Greek calendar for almost 12 centuries. Olympia was the center of Greek civilization as a sacred place where religious ceremonies were regularly held, as well as ancient games. The initiative to restore the ancient Olympic Games was proposed by the French public figure Baron Pierre de Coubertin at the end of the 19th century.
The professional holiday " Day of the Seafarer" was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 19, 2014. It was decreed to celebrate the professional holiday "Day of the Seafarer" on June 25 every year in the Republic of Azerbaijan. This is the head of state’s high estimate for all Azerbaijani sailors’ hard but honorable work. In the 19th century, the rapid growth of oil production in Baku gave a huge impetus to develop shipping in the Caspian Sea.

Regarded as a historic event, this congress significantly strengthened the ties of Azerbaijanis living abroad with their homeland and enhanced national unity and solidarity. Organized under the direct initiative and leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, this congress became a magnificent demonstration of global unity among Azerbaijanis.
The first monumental sculptor of the East, Honored Artist Munnavar Majid gizi Rzayeva, was born on June 6, 1929, in Baku. Originally from Shusha, her father, Majid bey, was a renowned carpet master in Shusha. From 1946 to 1950, Munavvar Rzayeva studied at the Azim Azimzadeh Art School and then attended the Faculty of Sculpture at the V.I. Surikov Moscow State Academy of Arts from 1950 to 1956. At the ANAS Nizami Literature Museum, she worked as a restoration artist, skillfully restoring several sculptures and becoming the creator of numerous statues, busts, and bas-reliefs. In 1953, she was elected as a member of the Union of Artists and the State Commission of the Ministry of Culture.
