Presentation of books on the History of the Homeland

On June 16, 2010, in celebration of Azerbaijan's National Salvation Day, the Presidential Library hosted an exhibition featuring recently published books by the Institute of History named after A. Bakikhanov within the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, along with a presentation of their digital versions prepared by the Presidential Library.
At the event held on June 15, in honor of National Salvation Day, the director of the library, Mayil Ahmadov, highlighted the significance of creating digital resources based on new technologies in the information society and developing digital versions of publications in various fields. He emphasized that the main goal behind preparing digital versions of books related to Azerbaijani history is to present the truths about the history of our country, the genocide and deportation of Azerbaijanis, the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, and Azerbaijan's historical heritage to the international community.
It was noted that the Presidential Library has been carrying out necessary work to acquire books both within our country and abroad for Azerbaijani readers and to incorporate them into the library’s collection. Since 2004, more than 100 books on Azerbaijani history, published by the A. Bakıxanov Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences, have been digitized and made available on the library’s website.
The Director of the Institute of History, Member of the Milli Majlis, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences, and Professor Yagub Mahmudov called this project the greatest contribution to the work of Azerbaijani historians. Expressing his gratitude to the Presidential Library, Mahmudov described the preparation of electronic versions of books on Azerbaijani history as a significant event in the context of an information war. He emphasized the importance of taking significant actions to spread information about the ancient Azerbaijani lands to the world and stated that such initiatives should be highly appreciated.
It was also mentioned that researchers will now be able to access the electronic versions of these books online.
