The Khojaly genocide, perpetrated on the night of February 26, 1992 by Armenian armed formations with the support of the 366th motorized rifle regiment of the former Soviet army, has gone down in history as one of the most horrific and bloodiest tragedies of the twentieth century. The full-text digital resource titled “Tragedy of the 20th Century – The Khojaly Genocide”, prepared by the Presidential Library, contains materials grouped into nine sections. These sections present a brief history of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the scale of the Khojaly genocide, investigation materials, testimonies of victims, forensic medical reports, the list of the martyrs of Khojaly, as well as other relevant information. The project also compiles documents reflecting state-level efforts aimed at promoting international recognition of the Khojaly genocide, including adopted decisions, appeals submitted to international organizations, and materials substantiating the classification of the tragedy as an act of genocide in accordance with the norms of international law.
