This book is dedicated to Azerbaijani carpets, which are rightfully considered one of the rarest treasures of mankind. Azerbaijani carpets are examined here in an ethno-cultural and historical context, showcasing the role and significance of carpets as unique elements of Azerbaijani customs, traditions, and way of life. The book provides explanations of terms related to carpet art, presents examples of folklore, and explains popular proverbs. Additionally, the publication includes an extensive explanatory dictionary of carpet terms, grouped according to various areas of carpet weaving in the context of Azerbaijani ethno-cultural traditions, as well as examples of folklore and popular proverbs. In carpet terminology, aspects such as the functional purpose of carpets, techniques of weaving, place of production, and names of carpets are reflected. Additionally, the names of carpets explore traces of ancient Eurasian proto-language and early religious beliefs.
