Энциклопедия архитектурных стилей
Wilfried Koch’s comprehensive encyclopedia of architectural styles, presented in its 21st revised and expanded edition, has, since its first publication in 1982, served as an authoritative reference for all those interested in the history of art. It remains an indispensable resource both for specialists and for students of art history and architecture. The volume offers an exceptionally rich body of illustrations and information on European architecture from antiquity to the modern era. Thematically structured sections – Religious Architecture, Fortified Castles and Palaces, Urban and Public Buildings, and Urban Development – are accompanied by detailed texts organized according to a carefully developed system. These are vividly supported by approximately 2,800 architectural drawings, including a number of revised and previously unpublished ground plans, as well as 50 maps indicating the locations of key sites. Concluding this extensive survey of three millennia of European architectural styles, the book includes an illustrated alphabetical dictionary of approximately 1,100 key terms, comprehensive indexes of geographical names and personal names, and a five-language glossary.
