Ustad Əli dədənin rəqs melodiyaları

This monograph is dedicated to the creative legacy of Ali Karimov, one of the most renowned performers of Azerbaijani wind instruments. Musicologist Rauf Bahmanli has compiled all of the master’s dance melodies and uncovered fascinating facts about their origins—details never before documented in any source. The book sheds light on many previously forgotten and obscure pages of Azerbaijan’s dance music history. A key merit of “Ustad Əli dədənin rəqs melodiyaları” (Dance Melodies of Master Ali Dada) lies in its inclusion of the musical notation for 57 dance melodies composed by the master himself. In this research work, the author also exposes—with documented evidence—cases in which certain dance tunes by Ali Karimov were falsified and appropriated by Armenian performers.
