Azərbaycan xalq mahnıları

This book contains a significant portion of our rich folk song heritage. This collection was compiled out of the need to preserve for future generations the lyrics of our songs, which occupy an important place in the spiritual life of the people. The book was written with the aim of restoring the modern sounds and notes of folk songs that we listen to, as well as new versions based on the work of such performers as Bulbul Khan, Rashid Behbudov, Shovket Khanum, Sara Khanum, as well as older texts based on a number of sources. When processing the songs, noteworthy facts from the Kirkuk province of Iraq, South Azerbaijan, Turkey, especially the Kars-Igdir region, where they were widespread, as well as from Azerbaijani folk dastans were taken into account.
