The leading role of Azerbaijan miniature in the total development process of miniature painting in the countries of Near and Middle East is drawn more clear in the light of contemporary scientific data. It is known that several of the earliest patterns of book miniature of Musulman East peoples were created in Azerbaijan towns - Khoy, Maraga, Tabriz. The illustrations reproduced in this album are the typical examples of Azerbaijan miniature of the XIll - beginning of the XVll centuries. They reflect the most characteristic peculiarities of Tabriz school of painting and expose the vivid pages of Azerbaijan miniature development. The investigation of Azerbaijan miniature from different points of view will promote more profound penetration into the history of art and culture of Azerbaijan people, will permit to appreciate in proper manner its contribution to the treasures of world artistic culture.
