In response to Armenia’s renewed military aggression against Azerbaijan, which began on September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani people launched the Patriotic War with the aim of liberating the occupied territories. In this Just and Honorable struggle for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, our soldiers and officers demonstrated heroism, civilians working on the home front made invaluable contributions, and our people as a whole showed determination, willpower, and unity — standing together as one and delivering crushing blows to the enemy. Our lands were liberated from occupation at the cost of the blood and lives of our heroic martyrs, soldiers, officers, and veterans. The history being written today by our victorious army serves as a strong foundation for a stronger, more prosperous Azerbaijan of tomorrow. At the same time, it is a key factor in ensuring lasting peace, stability, and security in the region.
