Путешествие в Тянь-Шань в 1856–1857 гг.

The book “Travels in the Tian-Shan, 1856–1857” presents the recollections of the distinguished Russian geographer, traveller, and explorer of Central Asia, Pyotr Petrovich Semyonov-Tyan-Shansky, recounting his renowned expedition to the Tian-Shan undertaken in 1856–1857. The volume was published in Moscow in 1947. In this work, the author provides a detailed account of the mountain range’s natural environment, including its glaciers, flora, and fauna, as well as the everyday life, traditions, and culture of the peoples inhabiting the region. The publication constitutes a valuable historical and geographical source, documenting scientific discoveries, the results of field research, and the personal observations of one of the nineteenth century’s foremost explorers.
