Les Rogimbot
The book “Les Rogimbot” (“The Rogimbot Family”), written by the French author Noémi Balleyguier, was published in Paris in the late 19th century in French. It forms part of the series “Bibliothèque de l’Éducation Maternelle” (“Library of Early Childhood Education”) and is intended for family reading and the moral upbringing of children. The volume is adorned with expressive illustrations by Édouard Zier, one of the notable French illustrators of the period. Its design is of particular value: published in Paris, the book has survived in its elegant light-blue binding of the “Bibliothèque Bleue Illustrée” (“Illustrated Blue Library”) series, decorated with silver embossing, vegetal motifs, and a vignette depicting a mother reading to her child — symbols of home education and enlightenment. The narrative blends engaging storytelling with didactic elements aimed at cultivating positive qualities and moral guidance in young readers. This rare, richly designed edition holds significant cultural value as a representative example of 19th-century French children's literature.
