The six-volume historical compliation Three Centuries: Russia from Trouble to Our Time, edited by the prominent Russian historian Vasily V. Kallash, constitutes a fundamental scholarly work devoted to the history of Russia from the Time of Troubles to the early twentieth century. It presents a broad panorama of key events in the domestic and international life of the Russian state over the course of three centuries. The publication incorporates extensive factual material of both historical and everyday character, offering an integrated interpretation of the country’s social and political development. Its preparation involved leading historians of the early twentieth century, which lends the work particular academic significance and reliability. The edition is richly illustrated with portraits of historical figures, works by renowned Russian artists, as well as depictions of everyday objects and symbols of power. It was produced in 1912-1913 by the major publishing house of Ivan D. Sytin and was issued to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov.
