The book was issued to mark the 205th anniversary of Radishchev’s birth and outlines the principal stages of his life, his socio-political views, and his literary activity. Particular attention is devoted to his celebrated work Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow, which became a symbol of resistance to autocracy and serfdom, as well as to the tragic episodes of the author’s life associated with his exile.
