Presidential Library releases “Triumph of Constitution and Sovereignty” e-resource in three languages

By the Decree of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, dated December 28, 2024, the year 2025 has been declared the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” in the country. The Decree emphasizes that one of the fundamental objectives proclaimed by the Constitution—the full restoration of the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty—has already been achieved.

The coincidence of 2025 with the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the 5th anniversary of the country’s Victory in the Patriotic War, renders this year a particularly significant stage in the history of the statehood.

In this context, with the aim of contributing to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty”, the Presidential Library initiated the development of a new electronic information resource titled “Triumph of Constitution and Sovereignty” in late last year. The project has since been completed in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian and made accessible to the public. The resource is intended to serve as a reliable, systematized, and easily accessible source for researchers, as well as for a broader readership interested in contemporary political and historical developments.

The electronic information resource “Triumph of Constitution and Sovereignty”, developed by the Presidential Library, systematically and chronologically reflects the activities carried out by President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, during the 44-day Patriotic War and the subsequent period. The official documents and informational materials compiled in the resource were selected from multiple reliable sources and consolidated on a single electronic platform. The main objective of the project is to provide the public with comprehensive, sequential, and organized information on the actions and initiatives undertaken by President Ilham Aliyev from September 27, 2020 to September 20, 2023 in shaping the history of Azerbaijan’s Victory and ensuring the full restoration of the country’s sovereignty, as well as the decisions he made in domestic and foreign policy.

The structure of the information resource is organized into three main periods in accordance with the course and content of events: “Cessation of Occupation” (September 26, 2020 – December 11, 2022), “Restoration of Our Territorial Integrity” (December 12, 2022 –September 18, 2023), and “Complete Restoration of Our Sovereignty” (September 19–20, 2023 –June 12, 2024).

Materials for each period are presented in 9 sub-sections arranged chronologically, with a separate “Summary” prepared for each section. This structure allows users both to follow the overall historical narrative and to obtain precise information on specific dates and events, rendering the resource a functional and practical tool for research, teaching and educational purposes.
