On December 9, 2025, the first event in a series dedicated to the topic of "Heydar Aliyev and culture" - a round table entitled "Rashid Behbudov 110" - was held, jointly organized by the Presidential Library and the "Culture Uniting Us" Public Union. The meeting took place in the Art Hall of the Presidential Library.

The event was attended by well-known art and cultural figures representing various areas of Azerbaijani culture.

The round table opened with a welcome speech by Professor Afet Abbasova, Director of the Presidential Library, who stated that the strategic vision formulated by national leader Heydar Aliyev for the sustainable development of cultural heritage is being consistently and systematically implemented by President Ilham Aliyev today and forms the basis of modern policy. She added that the launch of a series of events dedicated to the anniversary of Rashid Behbudov is a logical continuation of that policy.

Professor Afet Abbasova also noted that the great endeavors undertaken by First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva to protect, systematically collect, and promote Azerbaijani musical heritage around the world are of particular value. She emphasized that Mehriban Aliyeva plays an exceptional role not only in the development of our musical culture, but also in the international presentation of our national and cultural heritage. In this sense, she is a true protector and an inspirational figure of Azerbaijani culture.

A video dedicated to the People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of State Prizes, Hero of Socialist Labor, and world-famous singer Rashid Behbudov was shown at the event. The video showcased the artist's rich performing heritage and the unique characteristics of his vocal school, as well as his contributions to promoting Azerbaijani music worldwide.

During the round table, People's Artist, composer Faig Sujaddinov, Chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan Farhad Khalilov, and Director of the Rashid Behbudov Foundation Kamil Shahverdi shared their views on the role of the artist in the development of Azerbaijani culture, the influence of his performing school, the innovations he brought to the field of music and theater, as well as his life, creativity, and memories. The event featured musical performances by People's Artist Faig Sujaddinov, Orkhan Jalilov, Honored Artist Emil Afrasiyab, and Honored Artist Ramil Gasimov.

In her closing speech, Professor Afet Abbasova highlighted that the round table inputs contributed to a deeper understanding of Rashid Behbudov's legacy, expressing her gratitude to the participants. She noted that this meeting is the first event in a series and that future meetings will also bring together leading figures of Azerbaijani culture.
