An event dedicated to the commemoration day of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, was held at the Presidential Library on December 12, 2025. First, a wreath was placed in front of the bust of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Presidential Library. The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute's silence in memory of the Great Leader.

The event was opened by Professor Afet Abbasova, Director of the Presidential Library, who spoke about the exceptional role of Heydar Aliyev in the history of our statehood, his significant contributions to the formation of modern Azerbaijan, and how his ideas continue to guide the country’s development today. Afet Abbasova noted that the rich legacy of the Great Leader holds a significant place in the activities of the Presidential Library, and the promotion of his life and activities is always in the spotlight.

Speaking at the event, Advisor to the Director of the Presidential Library, PhD in History, Nazim Mustafa, Head of the Library Automation, Digitization, and Electronic Resources Section, Zakir Ismayilov, Head of the Information Resources on the President, Public Administration, and Country Studies Section, Kamala Gasimova, Head of the Translation Group of the Information Resources on the President, Public Administration, and Country Studies Section, Kamala Guliyeva, Head of the Art Literature Group of the Library Collection Section, Farida Namazova, Chief Specialist-Bibliographer of the Library-Bibliographic Services Section, Ulkar Mirzaguluzadeh, discussed Heydar Aliyev's multifaceted activities. The speakers highlighted his efforts to strengthen Azerbaijani statehood, protect and develop national and spiritual values, emphasizing that his political legacy remains highly relevant today.
  
On the occasion of the commemoration day, an extensive book and photo exhibition dedicated to the life and activities of the National Leader, Heydar Aliyev, was presented at the Presidential Library. The exhibition featured books and photo materials related to Heydar Aliyev's political activities, foreign policy, leadership in the state-building process, as well as publications on his efforts aimed at the development of science and culture.

Additionally, a virtual exhibition developed by the Presidential Library was displayed as part of the event. The virtual exhibition aims to bring the legacy of the Great Leader to a wider audience, allowing visitors to explore his life path interactively.

At the conclusion of the event, a video dedicated to the life and activities of the Great Leader was screened.
