The Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) has donated the books “Devotees of Science: Selections from the History of Research into Classical Heritage” and “Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference” to the Presidential Library.

The book “Devotees of Science: Selections from the History of Research into Classical Heritage” is dedicated to the memory of intellectuals who were subjected to persecution during the years of political repression. The publication includes articles by participants in the First Turkological Congress, held in Baku in 1926, among them scholars specialising in medieval studies. The book also features research into classical heritage conducted in the second half of the 20th century, as well as theoretical studies by contemporary scholars.

The book “Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference” brings together the papers presented at the international scientific conference entitled “Nasimi-650”, organised by the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and held in Baku from December 8 to 11, 2019.

Both publications are significant for the study of Azerbaijan’s classical literary heritage and the history of literary scholarship. Their inclusion in the Presidential Library collection provides readers, researchers and specialists with access to scholarly materials on the study of classical heritage and the works of Nasimi.
