The Presidential Library has received the book "Migrations from Western Azerbaijan: Emigrants, Memories, Documents" by researcher Dilgam Ahmad.

The publication presents historical facts, documents, and memoirs concerning the displacement of our compatriots from the territories of present-day Armenia, which are historical Azerbaijani lands, over the past 200 years. This displacement resulted from genocides and deportations perpetrated against them, leading to their settlement and continuation of life and activities in various countries. Notably, the life stories of Western Azerbaijani emigrants forced to leave their native homes in the first quarter of the 20th century are extensively featured in the publication.

The first section of the publication, titled "Western Azerbaijani Emigrants," provides detailed information about Akbar agha Sheikhulislamzadeh, Mahammad Maharramov, Mahammad Aghaoghlu, Huseyn khan Turgut, Huseyn khan Talinli, the Alibeyzadeh (Arasli) family, Tahir Mehmandarli, Gafar Guney, Ali Aran, Hasan Zeynalli, Jabbar Arturk, Gadir Suleyman, Alirza Ismikhanov (Yalchin), Abbasali Chatin, the Fatullahovs (Turkel, Yalchinkaya), Asad Aliyev (Atasevar), the Ekinji and Odoghlu families, Amir Ali Sardari Iravani, and other compatriots of Western Azerbaijani origin. The author met with family members of our compatriots settled in Turkey, examined their photographs and documents preserved in various Turkish archives, and included the materials obtained in the book.

The second section of the book, titled "Examples from the Heritage of Western Azerbaijani Emigrants," presents the full texts of articles including "A Memory from Diplomatic Negotiations Preceding Azerbaijan's Fall" by Akbar agha Sheikhulislamzadeh, "The Transcaucasian Seim" by Mahammad Maharramov, "Our Migration from Iravan" by Mahammad Ulukhan, "My Memories" by Mahammad Alibeyzadeh, "My Memories" by Shafiga Alibeyzadeh (Arasli), "The 500th Anniversary of the Conquest. Istanbul" by Fuad Arasli, "To Turk Mothers" by Mahammad Turkel, "My Adventurous Life" by Jabbar Arturk, and "Our Last Night in Iravan" by Majid Bahchivan.

This publication, rich in documents and photographs, is significant for studying the history of emigration of our Western Azerbaijani compatriots, their lives and activities in various countries, and their rich heritage. Bringing together historical facts, personal memories, archival documents, and photographs, the book is a valuable resource for researchers, specialists, and students investigating the emigration history and heritage of Western Azerbaijanis, as well as for a broad readership interested in history, national memory, emigration, and diaspora issues. The inclusion of an "Index of Names" at the end of the publication facilitates searching for and using information about individuals mentioned in the book.
