A new virtual collection dedicated to the literary legacy of Mir Jalal Pashayev—an outstanding representative of 20th-century Azerbaijani literary thought, writer, and literary scholar—has been compiled in the “Literary Heritage” subsection of the “Collections” section of the Presidential Library.
The collection presents materials showcasing the multifaceted literary and scholarly activity of Mir Jalal Pashayev. As one of the prominent representatives of Azerbaijani prose, his work holds a significant place in the development of national literature, particularly in enhancing its thematic and conceptual richness. In the writer’s works, the synthesis of folk tradition and the finest traditions of classical literary heritage achieves a new artistic quality.
Mir Jalal Pashayev is recognized as a writer who interprets pivotal moments in social history and the nation’s destiny through artistic analysis, engaging the reader in a sincere, thought-provoking reflection on life and time. His novels and short stories are distinguished by their profound psychological insight into human character, their commitment to national and moral values, and their comprehensive portrayal of the social realities of the period.
The writer’s scholarly work also plays a significant role in the development of Azerbaijani literary studies.
