Meetings with scholars, intellectuals, and public figures have become a tradition at the Presidential Library.
Professor Tahir Jafarov, Professor of the International Ecoenergy Academy and Doctor of Technical Sciences, was a guest of the Presidential Library, where he was introduced to the work being done and donated his books to the Library's collection.
Tahir Jafarov graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry with a degree in electromechanical engineering. He has held various positions throughout his career, starting as a foreman in the Electrical Installation Department of the Mingachevir Construction Trust. He then worked as a cascade engineer at the Mingachevir HPP and later became the head of the Mingachevir city department of the State Energy Control Department. Tahir Jafarov served as the director of the Mingachevir Electric Network and head of the Energy Department at the Ministry of Industry and Energy. He also worked as the chief energy engineer at "Azalternativenerji" LLC, which operates under the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources. He served as a technical director in the development of new draft laws, collaborating with European Union experts to shape the country's energy policy and implement reforms in line with European directives. Currently, he works as a consultant on the application of modern technologies at the Training Center of "Azerishig" OJSC.
Professor Tahir Jafarov is the author of several notable books, including “The Role of Hydroaccumulation Power Plants in the Integration of Renewable Energy Sources into the Energy System” (Baku, 2013), “Electric Power: On the Verge of Existence and Nonexistence” (Baku, 2015), “Smart Market: Electric Power Reforms and the Intellectual Market” (Baku, 2017), and “Darkness of Electric Light” (Baku, 2025). Additionally, he has written approximately 50 articles and projects focusing on topics such as increasing the efficiency of energy systems, ensuring the safety of hydroelectric power plants, the application of modern technologies to energy, and the use of renewable energy, among other related issues.
The prominent scientist in the field of energy has also contributed electronic versions of his aforementioned books to the library.
Professor Afet Abbasova, the Director of the Presidential Library, expressed her gratitude to Professor Tahir Jafarov for enhancing the library's collection with his books and wished him continued success in his scientific endeavors.
