On November 7, 2025, an event dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day and November 9 - National Flag Day was held in the Conference Hall of the Presidential Library. The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the freedom and territorial integrity of our Motherland.
The event opened with a speech by Kamala Sarijalinskaya, the Deputy Director of the Presidential Library, who greeted the participants and spoke about the significance of November 8 - Victory Day and November 9 – National Flag Day in the modern history of our nation. She emphasized the importance of these celebrations as symbols of national unity, statehood, and pride. It was noted that Victory Day, established by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 3, 2020, represents the Great Victory of our people and the restoration of historical justice. National Flag Day is celebrated as a public holiday on November 9 every year, in accordance with the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated November 17, 2009, "On the Establishment of the National Flag Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan".
Later, the head of the Electronic Publications Translation Group, Kamala Guliyeva, the head of the Art Literature Collection Group, Farida Namazova, the head of the Periodical Press Group, Zulfiyya Gurbanova, and the consultant-bibliographer of the Library Collection Section, Rakhshan Guliyeva, spoke about the heroism of the Azerbaijani Army, the unity of our people, and the moral significance of our state symbols—especially our tricolor flag—for the nation.
In continuation of the event, a video dedicated to November 8—Victory Day — was shown.
As part of the event, a virtual exhibition titled "November 8 – Victory Day" has been made available to the public. The virtual exhibition includes a chronology of the 44-day Patriotic War, publications reflecting the combat path of the Azerbaijani Army, books detailing the bravery of our heroic soldiers and officers, and materials on the military, diplomatic, and information struggle conducted during the war.
In addition, a book exhibition titled "Victory Day" has been organized in the Reading Room of the Presidential Library. This exhibition serves as a logical continuation of the virtual exposition, providing readers with the opportunity to become acquainted with publications dedicated to the Patriotic War, its political and historical significance, and the restoration and reconstruction processes underway in the liberated territories.
It should be noted that the Presidential Library presented an electronic project titled "Victory Day" dedicated to Victory Day on November 8, 2022. The project, developed in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian, is available on the library's official website.
