On March 29, 2018, the presentation of the book "Armenian Falsifications: A History Built on Lies" was held at the Presidential Library.
The book, published at the initiative of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was authored by Nazim Mustafa, PhD in History and the Department Head of the Presidential Library; Araz Gurbanov, senior researcher at the Center for Strategic Studies; and researcher Elshad Alili. The scientific advisor and author of the foreword to the book is Arastu Habibbeyli, PhD in Economics and Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In his speech, Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration Arastu Habibbeyli, stated that those referred to as Armenians today are not a distinct ethnic identity but rather a community of individuals who, over time, lost their original ethnic roots and united around the church. The book focuses on uncovering the distortions of historical facts related to the region’s peoples by Armenian historiography and ethnography, the appropriation of their cultural heritage, and the underlying ethnopolitical motives behind these actions.
Farhad Mammadov, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies, spoke about the Center’s efforts in exposing Armenian falsifications, emphasizing its close collaboration with both local and international experts. He highlighted that the book being presented today is a result of this cooperation.
The authors of the publication, A. Gurbanov, E. Alili, and N. Mustafa, emphasized that the misappropriation of the historical and cultural heritage of the region’s peoples has become one of the key priorities of Armenia’s domestic and foreign policy. They noted that the book presents these issues in a clear and accessible manner, supported by factual evidence.
