The two-volume "History of the Republic of Azerbaijan" was presented at the Presidential Library on October 13, 2016.
The director of the Presidential Library, Mayil Ahmadov, provided a brief overview of the presented work, describing the two-volume edition "History of the Republic of Azerbaijan" as a significant event in the scientific life of independent Azerbaijan. It was noted that the work, published based on the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of History, has its scientific advisor, Academician Akif Alizadeh, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), and its scientific editor Yagub Mahmudov, a corresponding member of ANAS. 
The event featured speeches by Arastun Mehdiyev, Deputy Head of the Department of Socio-Political Affairs of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Nargiz Akhundova, Academic Secretary of the Division of Social Sciences of the Presidium of ANAS, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Jabi Bahramov, Deputy Director of the Institute of History, Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Academician Ziya Bunyadov of ANAS, Fazail Aghamali, Member of the Milli Majlis, and Adalat Gasimov, Head of Department at the Institute of History. The speakers emphasized that the book captures key moments from the last 25 years of Azerbaijani statehood. These fundamental volumes, produced through the dedicated efforts of prominent specialists and staff at the Institute of History, serve as an invaluable resource for exploring Azerbaijan's contemporary history and commemorating its milestone anniversary. The concise presentation of statehood traditions further enhances the work’s significance.
