The book, prepared under the direction of Ilham Aliyev, the President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, comprises seven parts. This unique work comprehensively covers the main military-historical events that took place on the territory of Azerbaijan over three millennia. The predominant focus will be on the development of the military during Ancient Times and the Middle Ages, together with the problems of developing of military capabilities in Azerbaijan in the early modern and modern periods. The first part of the book deals with the issues of military history from Ancient Times to the birth of feudal relations in the 3rd century.
