Ornament Tarixi

This textbook is designed for students pursuing a master’s degree in the Faculty of Art History at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts. Initially, it explores the roots of ornamentation, tracing its development from primitive community structures to the ornamental art of Ancient Egypt, Byzantium, Rome, and the Renaissance period, including styles such as Baroque, Rococo, Classicism, and Empire. Additionally, it provides comprehensive information on ornamental examples that encompass the ancient Eastern and Islamic art developed over centuries in Siberia, China, India, Iran, and Azerbaijan. The book also includes graphic illustrations of ornaments, discusses their stylistic features, and presents historical insights into the art of ornamentation.
