The book "Ascension of Mugham"compiles interviews with prominent figures of the Republic about the world-renowned mugham performer and People’s Artist Alim Qasimov. In these writings, the artist — a devoted and passionate guardian of mugham — is portrayed from diverse perspectives, revealing facets of his personality previously unknown to readers. Through the analytical reflections of thirteen interviewees and the author (13+1), readers are, for the first time, invited to “discover” Alim Qasimov as a performer who unites within his art the essence of the Sufi, the philosopher, and the khananda (mugham singer).
