Teatr terminləri lüğəti

This publication represents the first dictionary of theatre terminology compiled in Azerbaijan. The book provides scholarly and theoretical explanations of artistic and technical terms related to theatrical art. The Azerbaijani-language equivalents are presented for hundreds of terms (such as understudy, parterre, box, footlights, fly bar, rehearsal drill, run-through, stage partner, among others). Depending on the nature and thematic characteristics of ancient qaravalli performances, shabih plays, babek and ipdeoyuq spectacles, as well as various ethno-cultural and ritual theatrical forms, different designations were assigned to their creators, participants, and performance venues. The dictionary offers readers detailed information on the origin and meanings of these terms.
