“Dügah” dəstgahı
[ Rafiq Musazadə :: 2009 ]
The present book is the first scholarly study in the history of musicology devoted to the analysis of a single mugham dastgah. The monograph The “Dugah” Dastgah provides a comprehensive academic examination of the historical origins of the Dugah mugham, its stages of development, as well as a complete and systematic analysis of its constituent sections and gushehs.
Employing a comparative methodological approach, the study investigates the interpretations of the “Dugah” dastgah by prominent tar performers M. F. Rzayev, M. M. Mansurov, and A. Bakikhanov. Within this framework, their individual performance characteristics are analyzed in detail, highlighting their positions within the art of mugham and their extensive artistic experience.
The book is intended for musicologists, performers, and a broad readership interested in the Azerbaijani traditional music.
